Visit with the Aspelunds

So here’s some of the stuff I’ve been trying to blog about but haven’t been able to get on the computer long enough.

Here’s the visit to Lewiston

We finally got to visit Doug’s place.  It’s an awesome place out in the country where they have a pond, horses, big field and so forth.  Very fun.  Here Dale was helping them put back together one their machine things (yeah, yeah, I don’t know the name of it). 

Here’s their square pond.  We think its hilarious because it wasn’t meant to be square and when you are down there it isn’t square it just looks that way from a distance.  Dale is the little green guy near the pond.

Bonita is doing much better.  We found out that her tumor marker has dropped by about 50 points.  It went from the 80’s down to the 30’s so they are keeping her on the current chemo for now in hopes that it keeps working.  Her belly is also not as firm when the doctor was feeling it so it looks like the tumors are shrinking.  Yeah!  Now if we can just get some meat on her bones. . .

So we’ve been pretty busy lately. . .

Congrats Mina and Justin!  We went to Idaho for their super awesome wedding.

We also visited our friend Kim and her baby Callie who were up visiting from Tuscon.

Whew, Lottie and work are making blogging difficult.  Even now I have to type with one hand so I’m exhausted.

Okay, so we have more cute pictures to post of Lottie.  I took two month photos I was going to post but I fogot to upload them before Dale left for Idaho and he has the camera.  This are cute though.

So putting all of these pictures in here is sad since I really miss them.  It’s only the first day that my husband and daughter have been in Idaho so I’m really pathetic.

Dale is doing really well.  His show, the Wizard of Oz, is going well.  They have made him pretty much an assistant director.  We laugh really hard because his directing style is the same as Fred Sheibe’s.  He’s a task master and works the actors pretty hard.  They aren’t so used to that but they are definently getting the job done on time.

His physical therapy is also going well.  He learned some new exercises to work his knees so we’re hoping that starts really helping.  They’ve also started taping his shoulder which seems to do a lot of good as well.

Bonita doing pretty good too.  We think she may have actually gained some weight.  We were concerned before because we found out that the weight gains she was having when she wasn’t really eating enough to gain weight were from her not eating enough protein.  The doctor’s office said that this leads to water retention which makes it look like weight gain.  But she’s been taking her Bene Calories which are mostly protien so we think she may have actually gained some weight this time.  Mucho Kudos for Bonita!  It also sounds like the tumors are staying about the same.  There is a blood test they do to monitor what the tumors are doing and its been fluctuating around the same level since she came in so we are happy to hear that it is at least not growing so she’s not going downhill.  We have a doctor’s appointment on Monday to review how the treatments are going and make a new plan.  Hopefully we get good news.
