Trunk or Treat

Lottie’s 1st Trunk or Treat!  She was a cute little pumpkin, I’m a scarecrow.  Dale was injured.  He hit his foot on our bassinet in the living room on Friday and we think he broke a toe or something because he’s in a lot of pain and its really swollen so we’re heading to the doctor’s on Monday for that.  Dale was so determined to see Lottie’s first trunk or treat that he braved the pain and came with us.  What a great dad!

I think the pumpkin is hilarious!

I also gave Lottie cereal for the first time today.  I was going to wait until the recommended six months to reduce the risk of allergies but she’s been eating a lot more lately and I don’t think its a growth spurt.  She’s been waking up a lot at night to eat and since one of the signs that they are ready for solids is if the milk doesn’t seem to be filling them up I decided to try it.  She LOVED the cereal and couldn’t get enough.

Chubby faced Lottie!!

Hannah

So due to the wonderful generosity of my family I was able to go to my niece’s baby blessing a week and a half ago.  It was great!  We got to see Michelle play an awesome game of soccer, Lottie was excellent in the car drive over, Hannah was a complete darling, the food (of course, its my mom cooking!) was excellent, and it was great seeing everyone.  I love family get togethers.  It was weird holding a newborn again.  It’s like Bill Cosby says, they come out floppy and your wondering why you got a broken one.  :-)   Speaking of which, my sister Wendy was hilarious!  She’s used to having Ahanna, a one year old, so when she was holding Lottie she kept letter her fall forward when she was distracted forgetting that she can’t hold herself up.  So Lottie would be making all these grunting noises since she’s getting squished.  My sister would just be thinking she was reaching for something.  It was really funny to watch and it was only for a few second before my sister would catch it.

Me in all of my wonderful brilliance forgot my camera so I had to rely on the helpfulness of others for these photos.  Thanks all!

Hannah is darling!

You can see how close Lottie and Hannah are in height even though Lottie is  about 3 months older!

Hannah is just cuter in this picture.   I love her little cheeks!

The three cuties!

Reviews

So we got Leatherheads and The Happening to watch last weekend.  I know, I know, The Happening is rated R, but it was a Shyamalan film and I loved his other ones.  I’ve seen a few R rated movies in the past and have always wished I hadn’t and this was no exception.  Don’t worry, you aren’t missing anything by not watching this.  All it is is a bunch of people committing suicide for the whole movie.  I spent most of it with my eyes closed.  There’s also not much mystery to figure out since it’s pretty much given to you at the beginning unlike his other films and it’s a political flick about ruining the environment.  Dale and I were highly disappointed.  It did have one cough syrup monologue which was pretty amusing otherwise it was a bore.

Leatherheads on the other hand was hilarious!  I let Dale get it thinking it was a dumb guy flick that I would suffer through.  It was so good we had to watch it twice to pick up on the jokes we missed because we were laughing.  Definitely rent this!  Dale especially thinks dad would get a kick out of it.

Pumpkin Patch

So we decided to actally do the pumpkin patch thing this year since we have Lottie.  It was fun.  To save money we didn’t actually get a pumpkin, instead we did the corn maze, pet baby animals, viewed cool displays, got hot drinks, visited the store, bought fresh corn and a mini pumpkin for Lottie.  The store was full of Gooseberry Patch items, my mom would have been in heaven!

Out of the car and read to go.

Some of the fun displays.

Petting baby animals.

Lottie decided it was a perfect place for a nap.

Dale all geared up as we started the maze.

The maze had two rooms you were suppose to find, and then a harder way to go which contained a “Secret Room”.  This is the second of the two rooms.

A few feet into the harder path the “secret room” was discovered.  Is this the secret room?

Must be.  I thought this was suppse to be hard?  Guess we’re just really good.  We then wandered around just for fun.

Us trying to take a group shot at the “secret Room”.

In other news. . .

Bonita started chemo again yesterday.  She’s feeling it today but doing alright.  It’s kinda the same old, same old.  Still loosing weight. . . and now dealing with swelling.

Dale is now the Constable in Fiddler on the Roof for the Driftwood theatre.  Should be fun, but its a bit part.  He’s doing gardening right now, which, of course, he loves.  Moving everything in for the winter.

My sister’s baby is being blessed this weekend and we don’t get to go.  :-( .  We can’t afford the gas and there’s no room to carpool.  At least we get to see them next month though.  :-)

The Bomb Exploded

After nine days the poo finally flowed. . . and it flowed everywhere.  It took two people to hose her down.
